Payment policy

You understand that your use of the Services may incur charges for services or goods you receive from a Third Party Provider (“Charges”). After you receive services or goods through your use of the Services, Hio will facilitate payment of the applicable Charges on behalf of the Third Party Provider as the Third Party Provider’s payment collection agent. Payment of Charges in this manner will be deemed to be made by you directly to the Third Party Provider. Charges will include applicable taxes where required by law. Charges paid by you are final and non-refundable, unless otherwise determined by Hio. You retain the right to request lower Charges from a Third Party Provider for services or goods received from the Third Party Provider at the time of receipt of the services or goods. Hio will respond to any request from a Third Party Provider to change the Charges for a particular service or good.

All Fees must be pay immediately and payment will be facilitated by Hio using the preferred payment method designated in your Account, after which Hio will send you a receipt by email, provided that your email has been authenticated on the Application. If your primary Account payment method is determined to be expired, invalid or otherwise unable to be charged, you agree that Hio may, in its role as the Third Party Provider's payment collection agent, use a secondary payment method in your Account, if available.

As between you and Hio, Hio reserves the right to establish, remove and/or modify Charges for any or all services or goods obtained through the use of the Service at any time in its sole discretion. Furthermore, you acknowledge and agree that Charges applicable in certain geographic areas may increase significantly during times of high demand. Hio will use reasonable efforts to notify you of such Charges that may apply, provided that you will be responsible for Charges incurred under your Account regardless of your knowledge of such Charges or amounts. From time to time, Hio may offer certain users promotions and discounts that may result in different amounts charged for the same or similar services or goods obtained through the use of the Services, and you agree that such promotions and discounts will have no bearing on your use of the Services or the Charges imposed on you, unless also made available to you. You may elect to cancel your request for services or goods from a Third Party Provider at any time prior to the Third Party Provider performing the services, in which case you may be charged a cancellation fee.

This payment structure is designed to fully compensate Third Party Providers for the services, goods provided. Except for the home help service provided through the Application, Hio does not designate any portion of your payment as a tip or gratuity to Third Party Providers. Any representation by Hio (on Hio’s website, in the Application, or in Hio’s marketing materials) to the effect that tipping is “voluntary,” “not required,” and/or “included” in your payments for services, goods provided is not intended to indicate that Hio will provide any additional amounts, beyond those described above, to Third Party Providers. You understand and agree that, while you are free to provide additional payment as a gratuity to any Third Party Provider providing you with services or goods obtained through this Service, you are under no obligation to do so. Gratuities are voluntary. After you receive services or goods through this Service, you will have the opportunity to rate your experience and provide additional feedback about the Third Party Provider.

You shall be responsible for the costs of repair/compensation for damage to, or necessary cleaning of, Hio’s or Third Party Provider’s vehicles and property resulting from the use of the Services under your Account in excess of normal “wear and tear” and necessary cleaning (“Repair/Compensation or Cleaning”). In the event that Hio or a Third Party Provider reports a need for Repair/Compensation or Cleaning, and such Repair/Compensation or Cleaning request is confirmed by Hio in its sole and reasonable discretion, Hio shall have the right to facilitate payment for the reasonable costs of such Repair/Compensation or Cleaning on behalf of the Third Party Provider using the payment method designated in your Account. Such amount shall be used to re-work the vehicle or compensation transferred to the Third Party Provider and is non-refundable.
